Final Release
Final Release!
This has been a fun project to work on! After taking a couple weeks off from serious work on this project after the end of the game jam, we cracked down on doing the final finishing touches and bug fixing... lots and lots of bug fixing.
We do not plan on adding anything else to this game. We are happy with where it's at! We may fix any critical bugs that may come up, but other than that, don't expect further updates.
Changelog
- Added new options to the options menu, including a fullscreen toggle to switch between borderless fullscreen and a resizable window, and a speedrun timer toggle
- Added a stats menu to main menu which shows various stats across multiple playthroughs
- Added a proper delete data button into options menu, which now has a confirmation screen. Also, this does not delete option preferences
- Menus no longer confine cursor to game window. You no longer have to Alt+Tab to change focus to another window while in a menu!
- Included font attribution in credits
- Improved much of the text in menus to be more descriptive
- Added health bars for enemies
- Added Mac and Linux builds. Please let us know if there are any issues with these, we don't have the ability to test them!
- Adjusted balance of how much experience you gain. We feel this makes a no sword upgrade playthrough more enjoyable
- All menus are now fully navigable with controller!
- Options menu is now a scrollable list, so it should display better in different resolutions, and it fits more options!
- Improved lava ambience
- Added a custom cursor and icon
- Added intro and outro scenes for more LORE!
- Added additional inputs for opening menu and backing out of menus
Many bug fixes:
- Fixed issue where rooms would sometimes fail to load
- Fixed issue with sometimes falling through the floor upon spawning in
- Improved the final boss' animations and states
- Fixed issue with final boss' arena resetting to default state after save & quit after winning, preventing reaching the ending
- Fixed issue where the player or enemies would sometimes become invincible
- Fixed issue with camera sensitivity defaulting to 0
- Fixed lava damage being inconsistent
- Fixed camera's movement being inconsistent
- Fixed some descriptions in level up menu being inaccurate or not showing when hovering
- Fixed issue with controller navigation in level up menu
- Adjusted some menu layouts to work better in different resolutions
- Fixed issue where you would sometimes not respawn after falling into a pit
- Fixed some cases of unintentional skill point farming
- Fixed an instance of a floating torch
- Fixed boss not re-entering idle state when player leaves room
- Fixed issue with notification popups
- Fixed many console errors
